For 5 months, I set out on a solo trip to eat my way through Europe in an unconventional way — through dating apps, at strangers’ tables.
Since deciding to document my travels online, my journey around unfamiliar tables has expanded far beyond the likes of Hinge or Tinder, with messages pouring in from strangers on social media who, for some reason or another, don’t mind a complete stranger in their kitchen.
Through the fascinating premise of meeting strangers on dating apps to cook a meal together, my online series Cook Me Something Nice explores the stories of people from around the world through food, highlighting the rich tapestry of lives, cultures, tales and meals of everyday people. Alongside this, my series exists to show you that meaningful connection with other people is possible wherever you are, if you’re curious enough.
With no set plan, a smashed iPhone and a hunger to see the whole world, I’m going as far as it’ll take me.
